Eclipse Arrowhead 5.2.0 Released
A new version of the Eclipse Arrowhead framework, Eclipse Arrowhead 5.2.0, is now available. The release introduces several improvements and new capabilities for 5th-generation Local Clouds.
Rule-Based Orchestration for Local Clouds
Version 5.2.0 introduces the SimpleStoreServiceOrchestration Core System, enabling rule-based orchestration in 5th-generation Local Clouds.
This functionality is particularly relevant for environments that require simple and static orchestration rules, or for systems previously operating with the simple-store orchestration strategy in 4th-generation Local Clouds. The new core system enables the same orchestration approach to be used in the newer generation of the framework.
Quality-Aware Service Selection
The release also enables integration with Quality of Service (QoS) evaluation solutions and introduces a new support component: the DeviceQoSEvaluator Support System.
The DeviceQoSEvaluator:
- collects and computes device-level key performance indicators (KPIs)
- supports the selection of appropriate service providers based on QoS metrics
When combined with the DynamicServiceOrchestration Core System, the DeviceQoSEvaluator contributes to continuous resource balancing within a Local Cloud.
